Multi-Purpose Valve

All Multi-Purpose Valves feature the exclusive Heyer-Schulte® On-Off device. This integral on-off control can be utilized to monitor for shunt dependency, can assist in controlling ventricle decompression and allows easy proximal flushing and patency testing.

An integral proximal occluder allows easy opening of on-off mechanism and facilitates distal flushing, while the in-line reservoir assists with both proximal and distal flushing and provides access for CSF sampling and fluid/medication injection.

This easy-to-use flat bottom miter valve device is available in three pressure ranges, with or without an integral Anti-Siphon Device, to meet a wide range of patient needs.

Intended Use:
For treatment of hydrocephalic patients to shunt cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) from the lateral ventricles of the brain into either the right atrium of the heart or the peritoneum.
