  • CUSA EXcel® Ultrasonic Surgical Aspiration System
    • The Market Leader in Ultrasonic Surgical Aspiration Systems

CUSA® brand systems have led the ultrasonic surgical aspiration market for over 30 years. Since the introduction of the CUSA NS100 in 1977, the CUSA name has been  associated with premium quality and technological sophistication in ultrasonic surgical aspiration. The CUSA EXcel system is evidence of Integra’s continued commitment to the advancement of ultrasonic surgical aspiration technology and our goal to enable surgeons to continue to Operate with Confidence™.

The CUSA EXcel offers the most advanced feature set of any ultrasonic surgical system on the market.

      TissueSelect™

Unique to the CUSA EXcel, TissueSelect maintains fragmentation capability for tumor removal while maximizing selectivity for surgeon control around critical structures.  As the setting is increased, “softer” tissue is still easily fragmented, but “stronger” tissue is more resistant providing superior tactile feedback to the surgeon

      TipSelect™

The CUSA EXcel system supports an extensive selection of handpieces and surgical tips. This TipSelect flexibility allows the surgeon to choose the most appropriate tip/handpiece combination based on the surgical procedure. The user-friendly console, color-coded tubing and tubing paths allow for easy system set-up.

      CEM™

The CUSA Electrosurgery Module (CEM) enables the powerful combination of electrosurgery and ultrasonics in one handpiece.  Monopolar electrocautery can be simultaneously delivered to the tip with ultrasonic vibration, permitting  more rapid tissue debulking.

      Additional advanced features include:

  • CUSA Selector® Ultrasonic Surgical Aspiration System
    • The Selector® system for ultrasonic surgery combines selective tissue ablation with simultaneous irrigation and aspiration. Developed and manufactured in the U.K., the Selector system is quick to set up and easy to operate and maintain.

The Selector console is the power source for the Selector handpieces and provides aspiration and irrigation control. Irrigation control is provided via an integral peristaltic pump, able to deliver a range of flow rates from 1 - 50 ml/min.

The linear action footswitch places the ultrasonic power and irrigation rate directly under the surgeon’s control.  Depression of the power pedal delivers a proportional increase in the ultrasonic power with accompanying irrigation and aspiration up to the maximum level selected on the console. The separate irrigation pedal provides a variable flow rate of irrigation fluid, useful when a bolus of fluid is required.

The Selector Service Module provides a source of aspiration and waste collection for the Selector system. Alternatively, the console can be connected directly to the suction/waste source within the operating room.
